Fossil Farms Oceanside Retreat

Fossil Farms is a beautiful, cozy getaway. Very happy with our stay and could picture ourselves staying again, maybe even in another season! There is really something for everyone, fire pits, pool, sauna, ocean access with canoes and kayaks and bikes for exploring. It’s also in a great location with lots to do nearby, making for an overall great trip!

WOW what an incredible experience we had at Fossil Farms!! We spent 9 days circling Nova Scotia for vacation and Fossil Farms was the highlight of our trip. We stayed in the Bachelor cabins and it was perfect. Accommodations and cleanliness were top notch. But the real magic was outside our cabin. We walked just about every square inch of the farm and there was something memorable around every corner. We loved seeing the bees hard at work, the breathtaking views and all of the little cute spots around the property just to sit and contemplate for a few special moments. My 2nd favorite thing we experienced at Fossil Farms were the farm ANIMALS. They gave us feed so we could go in and meet the goats and sheep. It was so much fun to be able to feed them and see their adorable personalities. I could have spent all day hanging out with them. The number one experience at Fossil Farms was the AMAZING DINNER! It seems seasonal the days that they have dinner offered. We were there in early September and they had dinner Thur, Fri and Sat that week. Make sure to plan your trip so that you can take advantage of this amazing experience!! This was my favorite meal of my life. Each course was better than the previous and it was just incredible to see the tomatoes and cucumbers in the greenhouse in the morning and then on my plate at dinner. It wasn’t just the quality though... The most amazing thing was how they worked to accommodate my husband. He is allergic to dairy and they went above and beyond to make his meal just as special as every person there. He was hoping that they could make adjustments to a few of the courses so that he would be able to eat. THEY EDITED EVERY COURSE FOR HIM!! It’s really hard to avoid dairy and he was so happy. It meant a lot to us. Thank you. Thank you to everyone at Fossil Farms for the awesome experiences and amazing memories.

Wow! Just wow! Our cottage was bright, airy, and had everything we needed for our stay. The meal Saturday night was brilliant and Brad, the chef, was very happy to chat about his outdoor kitchen. Highly recommend.

One of the most incredible places I’ve ever stayed. If you love sunsets, bonfires, farm animals, canoeing, OR relaxing, this will be your oasis! You can also search for fossils :) The rooms were so clean. Saturday night dining was unbelievably perfect. The staff were so kind. The animals were lovely.

Had the family style tasting menu. Absolutely everything was perfect. The venue with the tasteful antiques and high ceilings was fantastic. Every course came out with new locally sourced food and was unbelievable. The seasonal cocktails were a great pairing to the meals. Would highly recommend to anyone in the area.

We were guests at fossil Farms Oceanside retreat for a friend hilltop vineyard wedding with an ocean view. It was stunning. The reception and gourmet 10 course meal at the gorgeous post and beam chalet was top-notch. The food was locally grown and delicious. The chef is to be commended For an outstanding menu this beautiful farm with gently rolling Hills, ocean views, well appointed cabins, and even a pickle ball court is a place. I will bring my friends to in the future. Just loved it!

I've been thinking of how I can put into to words just how beautiful this place is. We wanted to spend sometime in and around the Pictou area. We were born and raised in NS, but never spent anytime along the Northumberland Straight. This place was rated very well so, we decided to check it out and stayed 2 nights last week. We are so happy we did! If you are looking for a peaceful place to unwind, enjoy nature with beautiful views this is it. There is absolutely nothing they haven't thought of to make your stay enjoyable. From Kayaking to Star Gazing it has sooo much to offer. Thank you again!

Our stay at Fossil Farms Oceanside Retreat was nothing short of wonderful. The accommodations were immaculate and beautifully decorated, with every detail thoughtfully considered. The hosts were warm, attentive, and genuinely invested in making our time special. The highlight was the incredible seven-course dinner — each course was a masterpiece, showcasing fresh, locally sourced ingredients with exceptional presentation. What could have been better? Honestly, not much. If anything, we simply wished we had booked a longer stay to enjoy more of the peace, comfort, and outstanding hospitality. We left feeling refreshed, well-fed, and already eager to plan our return.
